OUR Q8V CODEC SYSTEM
As a specialist in high quality audio transmission technology Qbit offers almost infinite target-oriented possibilities. Therefore our new product series, the Q8V Codec System, plays an outstanding role and impresses with its flexibility and almost unlimited possibilities. On top of all this, the Q8V is also an Akamai MSL 4.x Qualified Encoder.
It combines the strengths of the previous Q880 Multi-Channel Audio Gateway Codec as well as the Q866 Internet Radio Transcoder, and many added features.
There are many use cases that can be realized using the Q8V:
Transcoding web radios and MPEG-2 transport streams into a common format for cable networks
Multiplexing a DVB-compliant MPEG-2 transport stream for satellite distribution
Encoding HLS, Ybrid and Icecast web radio streams
Connecting multiple RAVENNA / AES67 sites over the public internet
With the internal audio matrix, any type of input service can be connected to any type of output service. If you can think of a combination, chances are high that the Q8V can handle it!
The system is very flexible and can be operated on a variety of platforms.
It is available as:
- Virtual Appliance (compatible with VMware ESXi and Hyper-V)
- Q8V Network Media Appliance (optimized Qbit hardware)
- Image for customer-owned COTS hardware
By far the easiest way to get started with the Q8V Codec System is the Q8V Network Media Appliance.
It combines selected hardware with pre-installed Q8V Codec System software. Up to 100 stereo channels can be processed and the number of licensed channels is field-upgradable at any time.
The device has 8 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports that can be dynamically assigned functions for maximum flexibility.
